The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce strives to preserve, enhance, and expand commerce for the prosperity of the greater Pendleton area and its citizens.

The accomplishment of that mission falls into 5 broad categories:

1. Advancing our members’ success

2. Building a strong local economy

3. Helping business people make connections

4. Promoting a vibrant community

5. Representing the interests of business with government

The Board has created a “Vision of Pendleton in 2025” and ensures the programs, policies and events of the Chamber work toward making that vision a reality.

“With 25,000 engaged citizens who exhibit a community unity, Pendleton maintains an attractive community with a friendly “home town” atmosphere for businesses and families and is the business, political, commercial, tourism and entertainment center for Eastern Oregon. We have created an economically viable community with family living wage jobs in a widely diversified economic base. Residents enjoy many activities for all ages. Newcomers are welcomed and find it easy to become involved.

We maintain modern and technologically advanced health and public safety facilities. Pendleton’s educational system, from pre-school through college, is highly acclaimed and thriving. We have a destination historic downtown core where storefronts are full and provide a diverse quality shopping experience, apartments and businesses occupy the second story spaces, and there are many dining and entertainment options. A full-time economic development director works for the community; the airport arterial has been completed and the industrial park is growing.”

While not all of the items in this vision are directly under the Chamber’s control, the Board is committed to ensuring that the programs and activities of the Chamber and its committees contribute in significant ways to the reality of this vision. In keeping with the theme, we recognize the need to work diligently and cooperatively with other interested entities in Pendleton, the region, and the state.
