Message from the President   

Pendleton, is in wheat country at the foot of the Blue Mountains. We hear it all the time, “why didn’t we know about this great community sooner?” I am proud to have you take a closer look at Pendleton. It is home to me, but it may be a vacation place or a potential business location for you. You may even be thinking of relocating.

What is it about Pendleton that makes it so attractive for business, for tourists and for life in general? It has been said that the spirit here “has to be felt”. People are genuinely friendly; they speak to you on the street and in the stores. They give of their time for many volunteer efforts which keep the community humming. Pendleton is a very busy place with plenty to do for everyone.

The environment is unique in many ways. The climate is mild, semi arid with four seasons; not too cold and not too hot. The mountains are twenty to thirty minutes away in three directions. Outdoor activities of almost every type are available. Whether it is camping, hiking, mountain-biking, water skiing, snow skiing or huckleberry picking you will find it near Pendleton. A great place to live or to visit.

The gateway to business and the county seat, Pendleton is the place to be for business. We are situated almost equidistant to Boise, ID, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR. The economy is stabilized by agriculture; the region has a dynamic makeup that will be strong for your business and for the future. Currently the Airport Road project promises to provide valuable access to large tracks of land for developing further industry, more job opportunities and growth.
