Civic Groups, Clubs
and Organizations
Pendleton runs on volunteers! Most of the
major events that occur here are run by
all-volunteer boards, and many dedicated
Pendletonians use vacation time to volunteer
on some of the projects. The opportunities
to get involved in the community and make a
difference through service clubs and
organizations are myriad and varied. All the
major service clubs have branches
established here, and there are several
organizations unique to this community that
have been formed to meet specific needs.
Volunteerism in Pendleton has a long
history. The Pendleton Arts Council was the
first arts council formed in the entire
state back in the late-1800s.
The Pendleton Foundation Trust also is an
energetic supporter of the community. Their
Board handles money and goods bequeathed to
the foundation, and distributes hundreds of
thousands of dollars to fund numerous
projects for schools, non-profits, and
others throughout the community.
Getting involved in a club or service
organization is a sure way to get integrated
into the community, meet people, find
friends, and do something that not only
makes you feel good but helps the town.
Contact the Chamber or search the business
directory for a complete list.
